YuumiARIA • A/W ’26

Designer Yumi Suzuki graduated from Bunka Fashion College in 2001 before working as a patternmaker, design assistant, and later womenswear designer. After becoming independent in 2007, she began producing one-of-a-kind pieces reconstructed from vintage clothing, eventually launching a full collection line in 2011 and renaming the label YuumiARIA in 2014. Today, the collections are split into two: one focuses on original designs with new materials, and the other is “remakes,” using upcycled garments to twist the narrative of classic clothing categories.

For A/W ’26, Suzuki continues this approach through layered proportions, contrasting surfaces, and reworked familiar silhouettes. A recurring Tape Tulle series uses polyester tulle with gathered tape embroidery to create dimensional surfaces across multiple garment forms. The collection balances these sheer pieces with more substantial outerwear, relaxed tailoring, and oversized layers, continuing Suzuki’s longstanding interest in altering everyday clothing through material, construction, and proportion.
