SARTO • A/W ’26

Established in 2023, SARTO is designed by Kiyoshi Toyoshima, with Akihiko Ikeda as patternmaker. The name comes from the Italian word for tailor, reflecting a process in which design and patternmaking develop together. This relationship shapes the brand’s focus on silhouette, comfort, and refined everyday clothing.

For A/W ’26, familiar tailoring and workwear forms are adjusted through proportion. Jackets range from compact, rounded shapes to more relaxed tailoring, balanced by wide, full-length trousers and longer outerwear. A notable standout is this short jacket, made from heavyweight cotton twill blended with American and Australian cotton. The fabric combines a densely woven West Point structure with heavy weft yarns packed tightly into the cloth, producing substantial body, firmness, and a natural cotton luster. Its compact length and rounded shoulder-to-sleeve transition use the fabric’s stiffness and rebound to hold its three-dimensional shape.
