YOKO SAKOMOTO • S/S ’26

YS’s S/S ’26 collection continues the brand’s commitment to original Japanese textiles and traditional manufacturing techniques. Produced in collaboration with specialized mills and factories across Japan, the collection emphasizes natural fibers, vintage machinery, and thoughtful finishing processes, allowing each garment to reveal the character of its material through everyday wear.

Textile development remains at the forefront of the collection. This knit coach jacket utilizes a high-density SUPER ZERO cotton knit that combines the resilience of a dense knit with a soft, lightweight hand. The brown colorway is finished with persimmon tannin dye for a naturally evolving patina. Elsewhere, this track jacket is constructed from an ultra-high-gauge 36G jersey knitted in Wakayama, producing a woven-like surface with a firm hand and subtle sheen. This work shirt is cut from an original high-density wool suiting woven with striped yarns dyed using the traditional Japanese ikat technique, in which the yarns are resist-dyed prior to weaving to create softly blurred, irregular patterns. The result is a subtle striped surface that highlights the depth and character of the woven fabric.

Relaxed silhouettes continue to define the collection, with generously cut outerwear, shirting, knitwear, and trousers allowing the fabrics to dictate shape and movement. Rather than relying on decorative elements, YS demonstrates how careful material selection, specialized production techniques, and understated construction can elevate familiar wardrobe staples into garments designed to age gracefully over time.
