Founded by Masahiro Ukaji, LQUARTET draws from vintage garments, traditional craftsmanship, and carefully developed textiles. The brand frequently incorporates handcrafted techniques, natural materials, and historical references, producing garments that emphasize construction, texture, and individual character.
The S/S ’26 collection focuses on textile development and artisanal finishing. Open-knit garments emerge as a key theme, particularly this hooded cardigan and a short-sleeve shirt crafted with intricate crochet-like knitwork. Rendered in vivid coral and pale blue, the lightweight openwork knit creates an airy structure that naturally lends itself to layering while revealing the depth of the stitchwork. The collection also introduces garments developed from original suiting fabrics. These pleated pants reinterpret French military ceremonial trousers with a relaxed silhouette, using a woven fabric with wool in the warp and linen in the weft, combining wool’s structure with linen’s naturally dry hand. Finished with natural shell buttons, the fabric maintains a crisp profile while retaining the irregular texture characteristic of linen.
Lastly, this 1960s-inspired shirt features a cut-off finish and hand-applied YOROKE stitching, a traditional decorative technique that creates gently wavering, irregular stitch lines across the garment. Individually applied by artisans, the stitching creates subtle variations from piece to piece while highlighting the handcrafted nature of each shirt. Constructed from a washable blend of Australian Super120’s virgin wool, viscose, polyester, and polyurethane, the fabric pairs the smooth touch of fine wool with the fluid drape of viscose, allowing the shirt to retain the appearance of refined suiting while remaining suitable for everyday wear.
