Yuumi Suzuki graduated from Bunka Fashion College in 2001 and subsequently worked as a pattern maker and design assistant. Then in 2008, she launched YuumiARIA with the ethos of creating one-off pieces utilizing used clothing and her advanced patternmaking and needlework skills. Today, the collections are split into two; one focuses on creating original designs with new materials, and the other category is “remakes,” using upcycled garments to twist the narrative on classic clothing categories.
