WAROBE, the sister label of TROVE, presents its latest offerings for AW22.
Its ultra-modern outlook distinguishes WAROBE from very conventional outfitting by the Japanese culture. Since the late 1800s, there has been a gradual westernization of Japanese clothes, mainly due to the opening of Japan’s ports for international trade and the overall practicality that western-style clothing gives you. Thus, it is nice to see a brand that can practically modernize those traditions.
Items like the Haori, Hanten, and Happi coats are remixed with comfortable materials like this MA-1 Haori. Crafted from recycled nylon, it undergoes a pigment coating and washing to produce an aged look and feel. Houi coats are traditionally reproduced by TROVE, but this season WAROBE reinterprets the classic “holy coat.” Their interpretation includes an incredibly voluminous silhouette, a material makeup of 60wool/30cashmere/10nylon and 50cotton/50cupra sleeve lining. Another new addition to the design catalog is this Haori-style, Yoten coat. Cut longer than standard Haori’s; details include side slits for proper drape, side pockets, and a wool-like polyester for the fabric.
