No matter the season, URU is sure to provide a voluminous and gender-straddling collection. Designed by Masaharu Urushiyama over the past 13 years, the brand has grown into a powerhouse in Japan, with pieces selling out each season.
For A/W ’22, the label embodies that ethos once more and creates a collection of bold silhouettes paired with noteworthy fabric and production choices. One of the more notable standouts includes this reversible vest—crafted with an elegant burgundy wool outer and a 75/25 nylon/poly shaggy blend for the reverse—then finished with expertly placed shoulder darts for proper drape and an oversized fit. Other pieces worth mentioning are this multicolor sweater, knitted with a mohair, nylon, and cotton blend. And also, these wide-fitting “easy” trousers are crafted with cupro fabric and then dyed using itajime shibori, a technique used judiciously in this collection.
