Founded in 2001 by designer Soichiro Ito, soe—which began as strictly a menswear brand—has now coalesced into a full men’s and women’s label with showings across the globe. Finding success within the Japanese market, the brand decides to open a few shops around Tokyo, and it was around that time, A/W ’16, that they decide to start producing women’s collections. At the end of the 2018 fall season, Soichiro-san retires, and his apprentice Yuki Takagi took his place as head designer.
