If one were to think about a Japanese brand that embodies the term Wakon Yosai, it’d be hard not to include Sasquatchfabrix in that thought. The term Wakon Yosai translates to the idea of adopting Western arts while also valuing traditional Japanese spirituality, therefore, harmonizing and developing that craft. Over the past 17 years, the always elusive Wonder Worker Guerilla Band (WWGB), led by ringleader Daisuke Yokoyama, have been collaborating amongst themselves and developing some of the best collections amongst their lux streetwear counterparts across Japan.
This season, as the title suggests, cowboy hats are paired with a cropped asymmetrical hoodie, which showcases the rust-brown sweater underneath—a Sasquatch staple look. Color tones weigh heavily on the warm earth scale, with a large part of the collection dressed in a shade of brown with green, grey, and red highlights. Taking center stage would be their collection of a unique take on cowboy boots. Ranging from a traditional shortie boot to their take on a v-cut version with tassel detail and lastly, an ankle cut, point-toe that features a contrasting leather wrap detail. All forms are right on trend and offer the look for both men and women styles. Other exceptional pieces take shape in the way of dark brown, down-filled, artfully tie-died, kimono style jackets in both long and short form.
