PUBLIC TOKYO is a new brand established in 2019 by its parent company TOKYO BASE CO., LTD. Its mantra is “the Tokyo casual” and “based on traditional Japanese techniques; we will create it with the sharpened sensibility of Tokyo.”
For S/S ’21, the label continues to take the basics from your everyday wardrobe and apply their modernistic vision to collections. What I seem to enjoy the most from the brand is its ability to cover both ends of the spectrum regarding casual clothing. They’ve got button-down shirts with sleeve-cinched accents and voluminous shoulder detailing; while also producing straightforward models like this relaxed, polyester version. Highlights on the women’s side include their compact bustier cardigan, seen here paired with a simple waffle-knit shirt. This vegan-leather long vest is constructed with a gorgeous a-line silhouette, which allows the material to flow while creating a flattering shape.
