Budding label MASU has recently released their lookbook for S/S ’21, highlighting their expanding knowledge of textile experimentation and wearability. Normally known for their choice of fabrications through the seasons, this season’s offerings provide a myriad of playful yet provocatively cool outfits.
Designer Muto Kai created MASU in 2016 after working for fellow JP brands, Man of Moods and Julius doing planning and production. Muto takes full advantage of the learned processes he picked up as well as the vast amount of textile factories in Japan that focus on new and developing textiles. For the past few seasons, it has been the marriage of these fabrics with thoughtful design details, which allowed the brand to amass a stable following in JP. For example, this cropped, button-up polo is made from faux microsuede, and the leaf-shaped cut-outs are first hand-cut on the pattern and then laser-cut on each fabric piece.
Enjoy the collection above and be on the look-out for their A/W ’20 campaign to start releasing at select stockists soon.
