Since KURO is mainly known for their denim specialization, it’s always surprising and enjoyable to see them design such thoughtful collections. With an extensive design profile, designer Yusuke Yatsuhashi can focus on the conception of the main line, while a team of master artisans focuses on the production of the denim category, within KUROs own denim factory.
For their A/W ’17 campaign, the brand delivers another range of slim-line, minimalistic silhouettes. Material choices include shearling-lined parkas and a 3-piece wool suit in an alluring taupe hue. But the obvious standouts from this collection would have to be the some of the select denim pieces, including the water-resistant parka and the remarkably tailored jean and jacket duo. Viewing the collection as a whole, it is certainly refreshing to see a contemporary brand develop and master multiple aspects of clothing design. And the fact that KURO is able to effectively maintain that status throughout the seasons says much about the manufacturing processes and people that are involved with the brand.
