Kujaku is apart of a new group of new Avant-garde Japanese designers who are making waves recently (AF Artefact, Vital), and are creating a much more competitive atmosphere amongst the seasoned and new designers. Nishizaka Takuma, has currently been buying for the Tokyo boutique Clique and founded his brand in 2014.
As for this collection, materials are akin to what we commonly see with most contemporary designers who live in a monotone world. Jackets are lined with cupro, and most, if not all, pieces are constructed of either wool, linen, or silk. These “Tsukushi” trousers are designed with an exposed layer of linen at the hem, showcasing the quality of fabrics used and creating a stylish layering effect. The “Kuko” jacket is fashioned from 100% wool, utilizes large black pearl buttons, and is adorned with wide sleeves to match the loose aesthetics of a full look.
