The father, son, and team of creative fashion enthusiasts at KAPITAL are set to re-issue their sashiko-inforced denim, aptly named the “Century Denim.” Sashiko stitching was initially developed during the Edo era (1600s-late 1800s) to mend clothes quickly. Although the practicality of knowing how to produce the stitch is still prevalent, it is used as a decorative stitch in most modern cases. There are four styles to be released, two straight legs and two skinny fits, all of which have a deep indigo dye specially formulated to allow the color to rightfully penetrate the threads, slowing the patina process.
