Ryo Takenaga incorporated his brand JUHA in 2014 and showcased his first independent collection during S/S 2015. Before this, Ryo-san attended Osaka Bunka Fashion College and subsequently joined the design team of Trove. The design similarities are prevalent between the two labels, but it seems that Juha taps into prints and fabric details a little more to warrant the nod.
S/S ’22 sees the brand bridging international communities, adopting fabrics like wool from the mountainous region of the Grampians in Australia and then sourcing the highest quality linen from Safilin yarns in France. The yarn on this wool Balmacaan coat is dyed before weaving, thus creating a slight iridescent effect, and it’s finished off with a fluorine-free (sustainable) DWR spray for water repellency. Meanwhile, this herringbone linen jacket is lined with Cupra at the back and cuffs, features a button behind the lapel for standing collar, and is constructed in a thick yet soft and comfortable linen.
The entire collection is available for purchase now through their online shop and select stockists across JP.
