Launched in 2015 by designer Yuki Oshima, AMOK strives to reinterpret aged clothing designs into their own perception and hopefully have that resonate with the wearer. Yuki’s background includes some time spent at Mihara Yasuhiro as an assistant pattern maker and then with Anrealage as the chief pattern maker. Both of those experiences are what allow him to easily dissect patterns and then assemble with either dissections or multiple layers within the pattern.
For A/W ’20, we can see how the label has matured over the years and has found a steady balance between playful and experimental designs paired with wearable, trend-defying collections. Their collection of pants this season are some of my favorites out of most brands I’ve seen. Fabrics are soft and cozy on some, with a bit of flair, and others are superbly designed with the right amount of taper and design flare on them. Most tops are designed to match their bottom counterpart, with some carrying unique prints or cut with layered patterns.
Enjoy the collection above, head over to their website to check out past collections, and be on the look-out for stockists to drop the collection soon.
