N. HOOLYWOOD designer and founder Daisuke Obana gained his fashion knowledge while working at a vintage clothing shop in high school. He eventually worked his way up to buyer and shop manager for a popular vintage store in Harajuku. Then, in 1995 Daisuke played a role in launching the vintage shop “go-getter,” sourcing pieces from the 70s and 80s when there was a heavy influx of vintage wear from around the world.
As his vision evolved, he began to challenge the conventional norms of the vintage clothing industry, which put more value on the age and condition of the clothes. Instead, he decided to showcase remakes and original designs in his shop, “Mister Hollywood,” which he opened in Harajuku in 2000. The shop quickly became a destination for fashion enthusiasts, who appreciated his innovative approach to design.
2001 Daisuke founded N. HOOLYWOOD, reflecting his unique style and vision, subsequently showcasing his first collection at the prestigious Tokyo Collection in 2002.
