Continuing with their successful range of functional clothing rooted in traditional Asian garb, TROVE presents their campaign and lookbook for S/S ’21. Also featuring WAROBE which is one of the sister brands to TROVE, and together they showcase the sharp design aesthetic the creation team offers.
Featured below is a mixture of looks from both labels. TROVE is characterized by westernized daily-wear attire, including color-block hoodies, wide shirts, and modern, no collar “Houi” coats. Their Houi coats are fabricated from a smooth viscose and polyester mix and therefore provide superb wrinkle resistance with 360° stretch. Along the same design line is their Houi jacket, which features viscose, polyester, and wool fabrication and is lined with their collaborative print with LIBERTY London.
Its ultra-modern outlook distinguishes WAROBE from very conventional outfitting by the Japanese culture. Since the late 1800s, there has been a gradual westernization of Japanese clothes, mainly due to the opening of Japan’s ports for international trade and the overall practicality that western-style clothing gives you. Thus, it is nice to see a brand that can modernize those traditions in a worthwhile way. Items like the Haori, Hanten, and Happi coat are remixed with comfortable materials like this polyester Hanten coat. Hakama skirts are made out of cotton/nylon ripstop for durability and linen for breathability.
