Storytelling with a narrative set on forcing the reader to confront a harsh reality is often a tactic used by motivational speakers or a narcissistic screenwriter. But these days, everyone is chiming in on the dire climate and political crises the world faces right now.
For clothing and accessories manufacturer the beta post, they choose to show their solidarity with that cause with their ideology of using recycled materials and encompassing a contemporary workwear theme throughout the collections. References to that outlook are spread thick with their A/W ’20 campaign. Some tops and bottoms are adorned with Dyneema® side pockets that snap on and off, and others have towels stitched to their neckline, reminiscent of how workers drape their towels over their necks during a hot workday. The “cardboard” pieces in the collection are crafted from durable and water-repellent polyethylene, more commonly known as Tyvek, and lined with an interesting pleated leather effect.
